Alan R. Hawley was an aeronaut, aviator, and president of the Aero Club of America from 1913–1918.
Hawley was involved, with Henry Woodhouse, in promoting aircraft production and training for World War I. (Their statement to the Senate Committee on Military Affairs is quoted extensively in the footnoted article.)[1]
