The Aeronautic Society of Florida was formed in Jacksonville by the end of 1909. References in the media in 1910 to an Aero Club of Florida or an Aero Club of Jacksonville would appear to be references to this organization.

Initial officers included George W. Clark, president; Dr. Sanderson, B. I. Butts, and H. J. Klutho, vice presidents; Dr. Stenson, treasurer; Dr. Davenport Kerrison, secretary. Some 50 members by January 1910. One of the 10 founders of the American Aeronautical Federation, 22 June 1910.
