Aero Club of the Polytechnicum Riga

An aero club was founded in Riga on 15 Feb. 1910. We think it most likely that this information from Scott W. Palmer corresponds to the founding of the Aero Club of the Poytechnicum Riga, which we know was in 1910 or earlier.

Maj. Gen. Sir Alfred Knox, the British military attache to Russia from 1911 through 1917, indicated in writing that an aero club in Riga ceased to exist in 1913 and we make the inference that that was this club.

1910-1911 Jane's 298 lists the Riga Aero Club but does not list the Aero Club of the Polytechnicum Riga. One of these may have been a chapter of the Imperial All-Russia Aero Club.
