AU 90 = Wind and flying machines
Apparatus for moving in air, for utilizing the energy of moving air, and for setting free air in motion.
Atmospheric ventilation appliances.[1]
(This in turn was grouped as part of a range, numbers 90–99, dealing with Railways and Transportation.)[2]
As of 1911, only the odd-numbered sub-classifications were used, and the even numbers reserved. The titles of the sub-classifications, which were not mutually exclusive, were:
- AU 90.1: Balloons and aerostats
- AU 90.3: Flying machines
- AU 90.5: Special aerial motors, &c
- AU 90.7: Wind-wheels and windmills
- AU 90.9: Ventilating apparatus
AU 90.0 was designated Miscellaneous.
